Ella-Mae is in her 29th year teaching at LC State in its highly respected nursing program. She came to Lewiston to work at the local hospital, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, and was encouraged to become a nursing professor after she earned her bachelor’s degree at LC State in 1992. That fall she began her teaching career. Ella-Mae also continued to work at St. Joe’s for 26 years, mostly in the ICU and emergency room. A few years ago she became a helicopter Life Flight nurse.
